Designed to streamline material preparation, Trinks Inc. Preformers compress, cut, and discharge thermoset compounds into accurate, mold-ready pucks. The result is consistent volume, cleaner handling, and greater efficiency in transfer and compression molding applications.
How It Works
The Trinks Preformer converts loose bulk thermoset compound into hardened pucks—or preforms—ready for molding. During operation, material is compressed and shaped to a precise size and density, providing greater control and accuracy in both transfer and compression molding. Preforms are easier to handle than raw compound, improving consistency and keeping production moving efficiently.
Trinks Preformers are available in two frame designs: Gravimetric and Volumetric, each engineered for accuracy and repeatability in high-performance molding applications.

Preformer Gravimetric
The Gravimetric Preformer is used to compact free-flowing, bulk-molding material into a cylindrical shape or preform. Preforms can be efficiently heated, easily handled, and loaded into a transfer molding press. Consistency and uniformity of size and weight are key to an optimum molding process. Our preformer achieves this to a very high degree.
A variety of die and punch sizes are available. Coupled with an adjustable die height, this allows you to dial in the system to the size and volume best-suited to your molding process.

Preformer Volumetric
The Volumetric Preformer measures material by cavity volume to produce uniform preforms with consistent size and density.
